Sparrows
Welcome to Year 7 in the Primary School, called Sparrows. Please keep up to date with us here, Facebook or the Monthly Newsletter to see us fly high when we flock together to investigate. We keep up our focus from each primary year so far to continue to make decisions and achieve in every aspect of school life to reinforce our existing skills and learn new ones too!
With our different personalities we discover the importance of our uniqueness. We enjoy the story, ‘The day the Crayons Quit,’ to realise that as we all work together, we share our talents. When we use this expertise to meet new targets every day, we are excited to earn crayon rewards to fill a crayon box for prizes!
Sparrows love their ‘World Around Us’ as they observe, predict & reason through time & place to cover their assigned N.I Curriculum Topics. We manage information in new Topics each half-term of the Victorians; Celebrations; Natural Disasters; Life Cycles; WW II followed by ‘end of year’ round up.
Developing skills in English, Maths and ICT help us explore these ideas.
We also have fun as our creative abilities develop in Music, Drama, Art, and P.E.
PDMU, Circle Time and R.E. help us understand feelings as we work together to keep safe & well, while Golden Time is a Friday treat to celebrate a whole week of Thinking Skills!
We get opportunity to learn differently when we enjoy special visitors at school or as we visit other places.
We are busy too when there is opportunity to sing with the choir as well as choosing representatives for the Student Council.
