Space
The Swans class have had a very productive and engaging couple of terms, we really enjoyed learning about Our City and familiarising ourselves with lots of Belfast's landmarks. We enjoyed learning about the Titanic and the Harland and Wolff shipyard and became shipyard workers for a day.
We have been working hard and learning about Money and telling the Time in our Numeracy topic work.
We have recently been learning about Space and the solar system which has linked in with our Night and Day topic, we thoroughly enjoyed building a space shuttle in our classroom and inviting in some special guests to help us learn about space. Miss Donnan gave up her time to talk to us about the Kennedy Space Centre, Mr Kerr taught us all about asteroids and a very special senior pupil became a professor for the day and helped to answer our space questions.
We have carried out some great space investigations such as making our own asteroid from ice and stones, creating and measuring craters, learning about orbiting and making the moon.
Our next topic will be all about Castles so watch this space...
