HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Welcome back to our new term. I trust you all had a good Christmas break. The students seem glad to be back to school as I am sure are the parents!
Website
Our new school website has now gone live. Please check it out on www.mitchellhouseschool.com We will keep you up to date with news and information about the school on this website so please do check it regularly.
Parentmail
We will also be using our parentmail system for sending texts and e-mails rather than sending you paper copies of things so please do make sure you are registered to use it. If you are not sure what to do please give us a call.
Charities
We managed to raise £143 for the text Santa charity. Well done to all those who wore their Christmas jumpers on the last day.
Friends would also like to thank you for your support with the school fair. It was such a rainy day but they managed to raise a fantastic £ 1150.
Events
We have a few charity events coming up this half term.
We want to help raise awareness for Muscular Dystrophy on Friday 22nd January. Everyone should wear orange on that day.
The Schools catering association are having a WEAR IT BEAT IT day as they did last year. This is to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. On February 5th everyone should wear red to school and the school lunches will have a red theme. A £1 donation would be appreciated.
School of Music
The school of music will be in school on Monday mornings providing a drumming session for some of our post primary pupils. Many thanks to Ashfield Boys school for lending us their African drums for these sessions.
Parent and Toddler Group
Our parent and toddler group is running on the last Tuesday of every month from 10.30 to 11.30 am. This is for families with children with disabilities and their sibling so if you have a toddler at home please bring them along or if you know any other families who have toddlers with disabilities please let them know.
Half term
School will finish at the normal time on Friday 12th February for our half term break. It will reopen for students on Monday 22nd February 2016.
